Life as a Newbie

Like, totally sparkling, unweaned, everything-under-the-sun-also-dunch-know NEW.

I miss being a freshie, yes but this is nothing like that at all. i repeat, NOTHING.

It's being thrown around like a ball yet at the same time trying hard to be a sponge and soak everything in. So it's very much like being a spongeball.

Well, i have to say this is seriously....................what i expected. Although of course experiencing something you expect in your mind on foresight is like imagining pain and then feeling it - still damn pain right.

I know absolutely zero (possibly negative) about cars - tech specs, horsepower, torque, pricing, design, and many other ridiculously technical stuff - as well as configuring a website - what ads to put on, which companies to work with, blahblah - and i'm gonna be handling all these within this, lemme see, 180 or so days!

However, something in my inner sadistic mind says that i am enjoying the rough now. This is what i need to know and is gonna be really very useful in my line of work soon enough. And cars, oh cars, what a highly unintimate topic amongst the average girl..i guess it wouldn't hurt to know more about them..plus they really look so gorgeous in the showroom! I have never appreciated cars the way i did today when my 'mentor' took me on a brief tour to see all the cars on display. Usually for me, anything that has an engine or battery device just has to look good on the outside and it's good enough for me. Oh well, that sure is gonna change!

So, this is just Day 2..i'm exhausted trying to change gears from my usual 11am-midnite day shift to a 7am-11pm one. Less sleep, less tv and less slacking around the couch..i already miss that! :(

I'm just glad the people here are nice :)

Well, that was yesterday at least..the morning fever did go down after the panadols but came back full force (38.3 deg) after 5 hours. But it went down completely this morning after my Ahma's super-effective LingYang or Deer's horn drink. Which led to a full night of perspiring between my sheets despite the aircon on full blast. Hardly a night I'd want to remember. So all i'm left now is the sorethroat; my nose isn't dripping anymore either.

But the doc specifically told me to STAY AT HOME. So much for my first day at work. Now i have to miss 2 days of it on MC. Hmm..usually something like this - being able to pon work is good news, but the problem is i haven't even started work!! (There goes that first impression)

Yep..well i'm not in the mood to blog much now..maybe later after i get some chow.

Last Day of 'Summer' and..

Tomorrow's Day 1 of a new beginning! And i've got fever/sore throat/runny nose and cramps now. CRAP.

Nonono i don't think it might be it la. seriously. *prays hard*

I cannot NOT go to work on the first day!!! That will be one hell of a 1st impression..-__-

Pleasepleaseplease let it tide over now..i'm gonna go back to sleep right this instant with panadol dissolving in my tummy and when i wake up it'll be OVER.

Awesome Summer!

Exactly 15 days to my first long-term (>3months) corporate job!!

And it has been a really great summer so far..with my Taiwan trip tomorrow placing the cherry sweetly on top of it all!!

27th to 29th May

The Best Friend who's currently freshly graduated from NTU and enjoying her new lease of life came over for a 3D2N stayover at my house! First time i actually had a friend stayover and i must say it was truly refreshing! Like finally, i have the room all to myself to share! haha how ironic..anyway, there was tons of playing leisure badminton at the CC and going to Tampines 1 to check out the new mall..plus sneaking her into my Thurs-ly Aerobics Dance session! LOL it is really freakin' funny when you have to groove to the beat with ridiculous moves with your best friend. One hour of trying hard not to look at each other and breaking out in guffaws.

Helped Grandma and San-gu make pink-coloured Peng-Kueh! haha i tell u..my Ahma's Rice Cakes are the most delicious and generously-filled! Check out their smiley grins:

Step 1: Put the rice into the dough and fit it into the mould


Step 2: Squeeze and flatten the dough into the mould

Step 3: Pop it out!


Step 4: Place neatly in wok and steam for 5-10 mins

Step 5: Add sweet sauce and enjoy the great taste and pinky-ness!

1st June

Walk the dogs at Florence's place!!! This is one of the best parts of this summer..i've never walked dogs before, much less huge-assed retrievers and huskies, and not less than 5 of them at one go! I love dogs but hey, i think the toy-sized ones suit me better..haha ok Flor i succumb to your profiling ok!

4th-6th June

Camp BlueBlood 09/10!!! Best camp i have facil-ed so far! Actually it was voluntary and i have to say that was the one of the best move i made this year! I usually don't like camps..especially freshmen ones..all that lame cheers and sai-kang..but this year my Bloodgroup made it somehow all enjoyable..RYAN SEACREST ROCKS!!!!

Super enthu and chemistrelectrifying..not surprising how we won best BG of course! We even managed a poker session during Night 2 and hahahahahahaha the biggest hand i ever won in poker!! Walked away with $36!! Thanks guys! ;) Crazy luck yes but it was a great game! Hope you guys do make it into KRH next year! :)

Right..so there's the summary of the past 2 weeks..super enjoyable. Best scheduled summer ever..and then now's 8th-16th June @ Taiwan/HK with Tzewee and the other 7 Ablkers before the new beginning at Volkswagen..ROCKS MY SOCKS!!!
