T'was an Ant for the Weekend!

There's this feeling that's been nagging me at the back of my head for the past 2 weeks. It's like I feel i have TONS of work that i haven't done but at the same time i know i can't rush doing them. So it gets me all antsy. I'm talking real ANTSY here no kidding. Like jumpy.

But anyway, the past weekend was literally an antsy one for me! Here's a picture of me last Sunday:

haha cute costume right!! Chingay 2010 Festival of Lights! This year's dance was comparatively not as fun as Chingay 2007 which i did in Yr 1, but the costumes were much nicer i think! I UBER LOVE MY ANT COSTUME!! Damn cute although we really look like croupiers at the new IR (plus we were like dancing nearby the Marina bay one at the F1 Pit).
The 1st day of Chingay on Saturday was quite a disappointment. Somehow the float got some engine start-up problems and stalled, and we ended up dancing without a float. Pretty embarassing actually, since our troupe was already one of the smallest - less than 100 people. Could see the public give 'huh' faces when the commentator said "Check out their mouthwatering float..." -__-.
But 2nd day of Chingay was a MASSIVE CAMWHORING SESSION! It was like all the dancers (from different contingents as well) knew that it was the last day of the event and 心血来潮brought all their cameras and started walking around snapping away with each other. For an hour me and some of the A Blockers felt like VIPs who were repeatedly stopped by random costumed people to pose for photos with.

This pic has totally random dancers...we kept 'crashing' other people's pictures and vice versa.

Here are some of my favorite photos/floats:

Universal Studio's float was the coolest..Jennie went crazy over the gingerbread men and went about trying to find the manager of the float to see if they would donate them after taking the float apart. But...couldn't find anyone. Fail. :(

Can't believe they actually had a float for the Flyer. A bit rich ar..

This uncle was SUPER cute!! I saw him walking past with the Ace on his head and grabbed him to take an A BLOCK photo with us! :)

Of course, can't miss out my FAVOURITEST FLOAT OF ALL!!! Our KRavings! Revamped to look larger and shinier and wayyy yummier!!

Ok one last random picture.......

We found this SUPERDUPERAWESOMELY ADORABLE baby that belonged to one of the Jap Association young mothers...
Next time when i have a baby i want him to look just like that!! Rosy cheeks and fluffy hair..he was totally preening himself in the wind!
Sigh ok back to my loads of work now..so many things happening at once this week. Just came back from Dad's Annual Company Dinner, and this Friday's WL's birthday!! Howhowhow to make it special for the one who lives just downstairs. Damn hard to keep surprises leh! Plus we're leaving for BKK in just 2 days yahoo!!! So have to make sure all my projs and homework are in check till then.
Argh. rushrushrush. Life rocks.

Lovin' the Year of the Tiger!

Over the long weekend i discovered 8 things:

#1: I still like flowers and cheesy notes.

#2: Definitely Sushi Buffet. (haha i know we do that every year)

#3: Hall romance ftw! :)

#4: Some things will always make you happy - like basketfuls of mandarin oranges and calorie-laden goodies.

#5: Some things still don't change - like the Tanjong Rhu Ah pek who always serves us Yakult and a whole tableful of wonderful CNY treats that auto-refills as soon as my lil' bro chomps through EVERYTHING.

#6: Suddenly the house is full of crazy kids that popped outta no where.

Trust me, this kid is worth at least 2 his equal.

#7: Nothing beats gambling with your crazy cousins and camwhoring.

Rawrs!

#8: Chio nails don't have to be expensive! :)

Haha i know i'm such a lazy blogger..more pics than words. But oh well, you know what they say about pictures! And i refuse to give facebook all the credit for my photo memories. :)

Nice start to a huat year - was quite heartened to see a decent turnout for the small gathering at my place with the ABlockers - and it sure is good to have a big reunion with the huge family clan.

Hope everyone had a fab time over CNY too!!!

Don't dance so fast...

Have you ever watched kids
On a merry-go-round?
Or listened to the rain
Slapping on the ground?

Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight?
Or gazed at the sun of the fading night?

You'd better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.

Do you run through each day
On the fly?
When you ask How are you?
Do you hear the reply?

When the day is done
Do you lie in your bed
With the next hundred chores
Running through your head?

You'd better slow down
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.

Ever told your child,
We'll do it tomorrow?
And in your haste,
Not see his sorrow?

Ever lost touch,
Let a good friendship die
Cause you never had time
To call and say hi

You'd better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.

When you run so fast to get somewhere
You miss half the fun of getting there.
When you worry and hurry through your day,
It is like an unopened gift.... Thrown away.

Life is not a race.
Do take it slower.
Hear the music
Before the song is over.

Don't Stop Believing!

Amplitude 09/10! I guess my debut amplitude session went fairly well..although i got comments saying i didn't smile during the performance. :( I didn't mean it!! I think the spotlight was too glaring and i was trying hard to find people in the audience thus the frowniness haha.

But anyways, it was fun! (although i think we screwed up the 3rd song) And, the 3 songs are still stuck in my head, especially Somebody to Love, which was absolutely my favorite one! (Plus Enya sang solo and she is my idol!!! Super awesome voice.)

As usual, good ol' A Block came to support with roses; despite the insane amount of events that were happening at the same time that night - Soccer, Handball and Badminton matches - crazy huh!

Love this crazy bunch of pple!

And i got a chio and super fragrant white lily bouquet from the Deardear..who actually braved the V-day price hike.. :)

Lastly, here's a v cool pic! Triple Twin Power!!!!!! hahaha...introducing the Tian Twins, Eunice/Esther Twins, and Amelia/Amanda Twins! (actually until now i can't differentiate which is esther/eunice)

And here's the mixed up version, with the younger of us on the left to the older ones on the right.

If only my sis hadn't graduated so soon, all of us would be in the concert together! haha oh well..i hope the backstage pics arrive soon, didn't manage to get any since the camera was with WL.

Alrighty, coming up next..this Saturday's rehearsal pictures of me in my Chingay ANT costume!! :)
