Good Ol' Sunny SG!

It's not often I wake up before 8am on holiday mornings..but I guess this time my bio-clock is still a lil' screwed frm jetlag..on top of having a horribly sore ass after sitting cramped up in that budget airplane for 20 hours (even after 2 days). Ahh..good to be home! Although it'll definitely take me a while to get used to this sunny, humid place...cold weather in the west is just one of the perks of SEP that i'll miss terribly!

Well, before I get my hands on that tender, sweet, gorgeous plate of white chicken rice in Bishan and lose all my senses and truckload of memories from the U.S.A, here goes my update of the craziest, most happening 2.5 weeks of my travelling life - LAS VEGAS, NEW YORK CITY, DISNEYWORLD ORLANDO!!!! (Warning: Due to the lack of internet while travelling..i've gathered approx 2000 pics on cam over those 15 odd days waiting to be uploaded ;) )

LAS VEGAS, NV

Was traumatising at the beginning, and at the end. From Austin we transited at Denver, found out that all flights to Vegas were cancelled due to snow and had to jostle with hundreds of people at the guest services to book the earliest flight..which we were told was 2 days later..like half our holiday would be gone?? So we decided to book a flight to Phoenix Airport to catch a plane to Vegas coz there was higher chance of getting earlier flights there..worst part of it was..we booked the plane frm Phoenix to Vegas online and accidentally clicked 'Round trip' instead of 'One Way' somehow..leading to an expenditure of $666. How apt. So, after one boring(and expensive) night of stay in Phoenix, we finally got to Vegas.

Which was nuttssss...Head-throbbing Strobe lights and Porn Ads littered the entire city at night especially at The Strip. Every hotel along the strip was of a really cool theme though - We stayed at Treasure Island which had a huge pirate ship outside the hotel..there was The Venetian - classy Italian decor, Luxor - Egyptian Pyramid and Sphinxes, Caesar's Palace - Which was one freakin' hugeass empire of hotels and shopping malls on its own, The Bellagio - famous musical water fountains adorning its hotel front..these were the top 5 hotels on The Strip, among numerous other flashy hotels..ALL with built-in casinos of course. That's why their money like free one..all the non-stop lights.

Highlights of Vegas were the 4 awesome shows we caught - A stand-up comedy at Riviera Hotel, Zumanity Cirque Du Soleil, David Copperfield, and Mamma Mia the musical - I loved Zumanity the best..(not solely because it was a FULLY Topless show) the artistes were really talented..the way they moved their bodies to each individual acrobatic performance was stunning and totally brought out the eroticism and sensuality of different kinds of relationships (yes i do mean gay). Not to mention their bodies were really perky too..haha most of them la, there were topless old people and REALLY fat performers who were part of the act too who were pretty brilliant themselves.

FOOD, of course played an important part of our stay at Sin City. Bally's Steakhouse and Planet Hollywood - best steak i've gotten down in that tummy of mine..definitely worth it! And I've also discovered the wonders of Virgin Strawberry Daiquiri..refreshing frosted drink without the heady-ness of alcohol.

Oh, the vital question will of course be: Did we gamble? haha..yes, er that's if u count dropping a quarter into a slot machine? My first slot machine multiplied my quarter by 5 times :) Here is the pic ---->>

Ok la..we're wuss k. We didn't bother with the smokey casinos coz too tired every night after walking from one end of The Strip to the other, and with all the wasted $ on flight interruptions and all, we strictly stuck to our role as anti-gambling advocates..spend on entertainment and shows more worth it..

AHH how could I forget to mention..2nd day of Vegas when Justin and bro was still with us..we DROVE TO THE GRAND CANYON!!! It was gorgeous and all snowy, except the journey there was really treacherous coz with all the ice and snow, the road was all muddy and slippery and had fatal bends which could lead us crashing either over the cliff or into some thorny cactus. And there were suicidal wild cows who randomly crossed our paths..and..IT WAS FREAKING COLD UP THERE!!!
But the sunset took my breath away! We took a coach to the top and walked all the way to the edge of the cliff which was simply a straight drop down to the valley..i wondered if any curious tourist ever slipped off the edge before, coz there was no safety handles at all, and the angmohs damn brave..sit at the lip of the cliff like it's there territory. And i made my very first snowman called Mr Snowman with the snow on the road while waiting for the bus...he is damn cute la.

Yup, so I shall conclude my 5 day Vegas trip with a broken heart..I LEFT PATRICK IN VEGAS!! I'm so sorry my dear Patrick..I miss you dearly..we went thru so much and you were there when I felt the worst in SEP..you chased away the shadows when it was dark and stood by me when i needed it most..Goodbye my dear friend Patrick..you will always have a place in my heart. :'( Left him under the bed covers on that rushed morning we took off to the Vegas Airport. I was so tired I didnt check the room properly and only realized when we reached the airport..which was too late coz it cost USD$50 to travel back and fro and I might've missed my flight. Cried my bloody eyes out at the airport.

In Loving Memory..

Oh Gawd that was really awful..totally ruined my memories of Vegas..Luckily..NYC was a lil' better...

But it took me 2 days to write this short post, so i better post it b4 it's overdue..Will update abt NYC and best of all..DisneyWorld soon!
Can't wait to meet everyone back in Hall! :)
